“In olden days, people had no watches but had a lot of time whereas nowadays everyone has a watch but no time” has been rightly said by someone. In the times of our great grandpas and great grandmas, there were no clocks or watches but still they were successful in completing their daily tasks. They had a handful of things and errands in their minds that they were to finish in the day. They got up early in the morning not by setting an alarm but by clucking of a hen or by looking at the position of the stars. They just continued doing all their work with full concentration wihout any idea about what the time was, at the back of their heads; and hence no time was wasted.
WHEREAS
Nowadays, we have a full set routine of what we are going to do and at what time. We have the time limit set for every little work we are supposed to do in the day. The process of managing your time by setting time limits to every work is known as time management. Time management today is given the utmost importance and is thought important to be taught to every student but is it really important to have time management about everything?
Although time management serves an important purpose in some spheres of our life. For example, if there would not have been any time management in your life, then the time table in your schol would never have existed and the time limit for the examinations would never have been set.
But,DOES IT HAVE ONLY BENEFITS AND NO DISADVANTAGES?
Today the students study a particular subject at a particular time without caring what he wishes to study or do at that particular moment and he is not able to work with full concentration.
If you recall making a routine for yourself, you probably must have wasted atleast half an hour of your day. Now, considering how many plans and routines you make in your life time, think about the time that you waste in doing so. When a person makes a routine and plans to complete a particular task in the set time limit and start with the next task as soon as the time limit for the prior task finishes, he then has a kind of race going on in his own mind and thus he concentrates more on just the completion of the task rather than getting immersed in that particular task and doing it whole heartedly.
It is only because of time management that today, people are not happy as they are involved in a race the whole day or rather the whole life ( i.e. the race of completing tasks at the set time limits) and hence are tired at the end of the day without any kind of satisfaction in their hearts. Even the sleeping and the resting time has been set.
I believe that we should just know the tasks to be finished during the day time and should just start doing every task whole heartedly without caring about the time beacause when we do any task with full concentration and love, the task finishes quickly as the efficiency level increases with the increase in concentration and with the decrease in the extra thoughts at the back of your head (i.e. efficiency of working is directly proportional to the concentration).
What I am emphasising on is that it is not important or rather beneficial to manage every littke task you do in your life because you are not a robot or machine but a breathing human being. “DON’T TURN YOURSELF INTO A MACHINE.” Be out of the race that humans are indulging in because one day, everyone will be tired and sit down and you, from a different path would lead.
THEREFORE, IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO HAVE CLOCKS OR WATCHES ON THE WALLS BUT TO HAVE CONCENTRATION IN YOUR MIND.
DON’T TRY TO CATCH TIME BECAUSE WHEN YOU DO THAT, IT FLIES AWAY MORE QUICKLY ……. DO YOUR OWN WORK AND LET THE TIME DO ITS OWN……….
I like this. For a long time I had a time problem. I would continuously check my watch, when I noticed this I got rid of my watch. It is very freeing not to be ruled by time!
